Empowering Educators Through Self-Awareness: A Choice Theory Approach with Jane Newman (Part 1)

In this episode, Kim Olver is joined by Jane Newman, a passionate educator, leader, and founder of New Core Consulting in Australia. With over 25 years of experience in education and a decade in leadership, Jane has become a leading voice in applying Choice Theory® to help teachers and school leaders reconnect with their purpose, manage stress, and rediscover their joy.

Jane shares her powerful shift from school principal to national consultant, offering training that prioritizes being over doing. She dives into how understanding personal motivations and internal control can reignite passion among burned-out educators, empower new teachers, and foster more emotionally evolved role models for the next generation. You’ll hear about her transformative "Core Connections Quality Outcomes" framework, her focus on self-leadership, and how she helps school staff move from “I have to” to “I choose to”—the essence of Mental Freedom®.

If you're passionate about education, personal growth, or creating mentally free environments in schools, this conversation will leave you inspired.

Be sure to tune in next week for Part 2 of this dynamic interview.
