Leading by Example in Restorative Justice

In this episode, I interview Dr. Shaniqua Jones, an extremely passionate woman from humble beginnings. This interview was such a breath of fresh air. Dr, Jones, or Dr. J, as she likes to be called, is a truly incredible woman. She was born a PK (preacher's kid) and did her share of rebelling as a teenager, which saw her on the streets, coping with many things teenagers are ill-equipped to manage but manage she did. For several years she led that life--her story is incredible. She found her way back to her family and to God. Education was her way out, and along the way, she became a specialist in Restorative Justice. She is an inspiration as she opens the very first online restorative justice high school in the world in September. You can't help but root for her. Kim worked five years as a counselor for schizophrenics in a community-based residential program, 17 years holding various positions with a specialized foster care agency, was Executive Director of Glasser Institute for Choice Theory for nine years and the Executive Director for William Glasser International for eight; and began her own company, Coaching for Excellence, in 2005. She is a model of what she teaches about taking responsibility for the things she can influence and control and finding appreciation for those things she can't.
