The Myth of Chemical Imbalances-Part 2
In this episode, I continue my interview Dr. Terry Lynch, author of Beyond Prozac, Selfhood and Depression Delusion. Dr. Lynch began his career as a medical doctor and later became a counselor/psychotherapist working with people who have psychiatric responses to their life events. Dr. Lynch and I talk about the role of trauma in mental health challenges and why psychiatry doesn't want to acknowledge it. We also look at so-called "mental illnesses" as coping skills or responses to whatever they have encountered in their life. Those coping skills should be validated and valued, rather than be called disorders. If you missed last week's podcast, be sure to go back and listen. It's gold. If you are a therapist interested in Dr. Lynch's work, you can see the online courses he's developed at www.doctorterrylynch.com and if you'd like to contact him, he can be reached at terry@doctorterrylynch.com.
